Background:The number of the Red-rumped swallow has been increasing in Japan. It indicates that they may become the urban birds in that they like concrete building as nest site. Urban birds do not have only good side but also bad side. In order to maximize good side and minimize bad side, we need to understand the ecology.

Objectives:1.To determine the relationship between Red-rumped swallow and environmental factors 2.To find out the relationship between Red-rumped swallow and artificial construction

Methods:1.Investigating the number of the nests and droppings under the nest on the balcony 2.Using the Arc GIS　to find out the relationship Red-rumped swallow with environmental factor

Results:Their distribution depends on eaves type and existence of water-bodies in their habitat.
