ESJ62 Abstract

シンポジウム S08 -- 3月21日 9:00-12:00 A会場

Global and regional integration of social-ecological study toward sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystem services

Organizer: Masahiro Nakaoka (Hokkaido University)

The expanding global economy has accelerated losses of biodiversity and ecosystem services through global climate changes and rapid land/sea use changes. This symposium aims to consider how we can solve these problems by building a network for researchers. Speakers of the symposium come from different disciplinary sciences, ranging from ecologists studying natural ecosystems, environmental scientists conducting broad-scale analyses of land/sea use changes, environmental socio-economists studying global impact of human activities, and environmental anthropologists studying human relationships and behavior. We will discuss how we can establish a new trans-disciplinary science to attain sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
