Vegetation change in floodplain originated by urban river restoration in Jungnang River, Seoul

This study was carried out in August 2008 to understand the status of grassland of Jungnang Stream after river restoration. 7 sites along the Jungnang Stream were selected and 21 plots (3 plots in a site) were investigated. The results were as follows: Vegetation of 7 sites in Jungnang Stream area were different site by site and plot by plot. In lower areas, Digitaria ciliaris, Humulus japonicus, Setaria viridis, Artemisia princeps var. orientalisa and Cyperus amuricus showed higher constancy and frequency. Digitaria ciliaris, Trifolium repens, Cyperus amuricus, Setaria viridis, Artemisia princeps var. orientalis and Paspalum thunbergii showed higher constancy and frequency in middle areas and Setaria viridis, Humulus japonicus, Artemisia princeps var. orientalis, Galinsoga ciliate and Ipomoea hederacea showed in upper areas. Digitaria ciliaris, Setaria viridis, Humulus japonicus, Artemisia princeps var. orientalis, Trifolium repens, Cyperus amuricus and Galinsoga ciliate appeared at more than 9 plots in 21 plots.
