Information about land use/land cover (LULC) dynamic is essential for integrating watershed management. Remote sensing and GIS technologies are useful tools for finding LULC patterns and its dynamics. The utilization of these technologies has been applied to Bodri watershed in Central Java, Indonesia. The aim of this study was to find LULC changes the last two decades between 1991 and 2009 within Bodri watershed. Three Landsat images 1991, 2001 and 2009 were applied for this analysis. Change processes were analyzed by post classification technique based on the supervised classification method. Images were classified into seven LULC legends: forest, tree plantation, plantation in open area, dry farming field, paddy field, settlement and water. It was found that certain changes in LULC occurred over the study period. The results shows that between 1991 and 2001 there were increase in paddy field (60.67%), settlement (43.68%), water (27.06%) and dry farming field (7.96%) and decrease in plantation in open area (-66.88%), forest (-36.82%) and tree plantation (-17.22%). While, between 2001 and 2009 increase occurred in tree plantation (42.91%), plantation in open area (16.54%), settlement (13.77%) and water (0.89%) and decrease in paddy field (-47.60%), forest (-13.41%) and dry farming field (-5.47%). The main problem in this watershed is the extension of dry farming field on the steep slopes.
