Batesian mimicry has been studied for a long time with mathematical models. While many mathematical models on evolution of Batesian mimicry were proposed, there are a few models on community dynamics of Batesian mimicry. The previous mathematical models have a common framework which was based on simple and plausible assumptions such as density-dependent effect and frequency-dependent predation. However, a basic model in the framework has not been analyzed completely. The objective of our study is to analyze the basic model in detail and examine the effect of mimicry on community dynamics. We found that the basic model showed the irreversibility and hysteresis of stationary states according as parameters change, and that they have an impact on maintenance of coexistence.
