We investigated an intra-plant variation of leaf and shoot phenology for Japanese elm (Ulmus davidiana var. japonica) saplings, which were planted in an experimental garden. During the growth period in 2019, the length and the production and death of all the leaves for all the shoot within each saplings were recorded. During the growth period in 2019, production and death of leaves were continuously monitored. We tested the hypothesis that intra-plant variation of shoot phenology among the shoot population for each sapling was approximated by a lognormal distribution, based on our previous model (Koyama et al. 2017).
