一般講演(ポスター発表) P1-261 (Poster presentation)
Desertification has been estimated by various perspectives such as meteorology and geography. Desertification indicates the change in the vegetation and the ecosystem function. Still, the evaluation of the desertified area in terms of ecosystem function is not fully understood. Therefore, we calculated the fluctuation of desertified area using the ecosystem function indices, (resistance and resilience) which show the capacity for tolerance and recovery. We used MODIS satellite-based Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Land Cover map, short-term Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) data. In each dryland biome between 2002-2019, we estimated desertified area in terms of resistance and resilience during the drought period. The results show the trends of fluctuation of resistance and resilience, indicating a condition of desert areas.
