The urban heat island (UHI) phenomenon is a common environmental problem along with global warming and the effect humans on our weather and climate in the long-time. This study examines the change characteristics of the surface UHI in related to land-cover and socioeconomic data. The thermal environment information derived from the Landsat ETM in Sep (summer) on 2001, 2006 and 2009 were analyzed. The temperature pattern revealed the high temperature zone expanded with the spread of urban area. The obvious change is the satellite city-Changping distric along the Badaling highway. Regression analyses confirmed the important role of vegetation and construction land in explains the spatial-variation of surface temperature pattern. Finally, the research use geographically weighted regression which accounts for spatially varying relations with multiple layers, and the socioeconomic data such as population, energy consumption were included.
