一般講演(ポスター発表) P2-391 (Poster presentation)
Blue Carbon ecosystems i.e. mangrove forests, seagrass meadows, and tidal salt marshes- are among the most threatened ecosystems worldwide due to rapid environmental degradation. Although blue carbon ecosystems provide numerous ecosystem services, but accurate valuation has yet to be done due to several factors- lack of knowledge, data unavailability, complex nature of valuation, multidimensional relationship with other ecosystems etc. However, valuation is important for integrating blue carbon activities into international policy and financing processes, as well as into climate market mechanisms. Some basic and major issues focused on blue carbon valuation are highlighted in this presentation. Review of preexisting literatures are also provided when necessary.
