The 69th Annual Meeting of the Ecological Society of Japan (ESJ69) will be held in a “online format.” We look forward to seeing you in the online meeting!

Considering that many prefectures including Fukuoka are under the “Priority Measures for Preventing Spread of COVID-19” at the moment due to the national-wide infection in progress, the “Crisis Management Committee” of ESJ discussed the format of ESJ69 in accordance with the “Decision-making Procedure for Emergencies at the Annual Meeting of the Ecological Society of Japan” (https://esj.ne.jp/esj/English/Rules/Meetings_emg.html).

As a result, we decided to cancel all the on-site events at the Fukuoka International Congress Center and to move to a full online system, because we realized that it is very difficult to predict even the very near future of the COVID-19 pandemic and also that it is practically impossible to establish a flexible system to carry out the on-site events in response to all the possible situations which could happen within a month to go.

We apologize for the inconvenience to those who wished to attend the on-site events in Fukuoka and those who were planning to give lectures and presentations there. We will try our best for all lectures and presentations to be delivered online successfully.
